The New Champions League Format

It is no longer a news that the champions league format has changed to a new way and this new way is now saying that the group stage section of the league will be played just like the regular leagues are played.

The champions league is one of the oldest football competition which was formerly known as intercontinental cup which got involved the top teams from Europe teams.

In history, the Spanish teams have the highest wins with Real Madrid winning the league for 14 times and still hoping to increase their advantage ahead of the other teams around the world.

The new format according to report is a way to make the game to be played longer and make it abit more difficult for every team.

In this article, we are going to show you the way the champions league is going to be played.

How The New Format Works;

The new format is saying that all the teams that will be playing the champions league will be in a table at each match, the winners gets their 3 points and will be added for them and ranked according to their total number of points there have so far.

Every team in the league will be expected to play the total of 8 games, four of those games at home and four away which is still the say thing that is being done that time but this time instead of playing one team home and away, you will be playing four different tile and away and four different teams at home.

Eight teams are meant to automatically qualify for the round of 16 while from 9 – 24 will be doing a playoff which will be used to select the remaining 8 teams that will join the other 8 to make them 16 teams that will play the round.

The Quarter finals, semi finals and finals will remain the way it use to be before. So what do you think about this new format and who do you think would win.
