What To Know About The Europa League This Season

The Europa league this season will not be the regular season where teams have to be drawn to 4 teams which they have to play home and away.

In this new formation of the Europa games, teams will now be drawn to 8 different teams, which means instead of playing home and away for one team, you will be playing 4 teams homes and the other teams away.

At the group stage, you will not be able to play against opponents of the same country but from the round of 16, everything will return to the way champions league was.

How To Qualify For Round of 16

For any team to qualify for the round of 16, you have to perform well to win games and be among the top 8 teams on the league.

This simply means, from team 1 to team 8 will automatically qualify for the round of 16, then the other team from team 9  to 24 will be playing in the Europa league playoffs and the 8 teams that will qualify will then be added to the teams in the round of 16 to be drawn against each other which will be played home and away.

Only 8 teams are expected to qualify from the round of 16, then the others will totally be eliminated from Europa league unlike the other time that round of 16 eliminated players will be moved to conferences league, the case is no longer the same.

The quarter finals, semi finals and the finals will remain the way it used to be played before now.
